Wedding invitations have been mailed out!!! 

Today marks 6 weeks until our wedding day!  We are very excited and can not wait for our special day to be here.

We have made bets as to see who would be the 1st RSVP we would receive. We will let you know who won!

More wedding updates

We have gotten so much more done in the past few days.
The tuxedos have been ordered, just waiting for the groomsmen, ushers and father to go get measured.
Adam & Owen (our ring bearer) will be wearing white shirts, vests and ties.
Groomsmen will be wearing black dress shirts, horizon vests and ties.
Ushers will be wearing black dress shirts, silver vests and ties.
Fathers/Grandfather will be wearing white dress shirts, black vests and ties.

We look into rings and have found the ones that we think that we will be buying.  All we have to do is go back and purchase them.
Vikki's engagement ring will be enhanced with the wedding band and Adam's ring will have some bling!

Save the Dates came in with today's mail, so Vikki has been working on them so that they can be mailed out on Monday.

Visits and more visits

During the week/weekend of July 13th-18th we were blessed with having a good family that Vikki has known for a long time visit with us.  Unfortunately Adam was working so he was not able to spend time with the Ayers'.  Vikki was able to spend all of the time with them.  They spent time at the Bush Bean's factory, Dollywood, the Knoxville Zoo and putt-putting.


While they were here the girls were able to help Vikki finish the boutineers for the wedding.  And we also had another change of heart about the Save the Dates.  We were having a ton of questions about the date, so we made one.

Our last visit was an impromptu trip to Mount Pleasant to visit with Adam's uncle Paul.  On one of Adam's very few days off we went to see the Iowa Cubs (the Triple-A team for the Chicago Cubs) play the Nashville Sound.  The Cubs lost, but it was still a great time with uncle Paul.

It is really July?!?!?!

Well, the 4th of July weekend was very busy for us.  The Smokies were home for 6 days and Friday through Sunday there were fireworks after each game.
We spent the 4th of July with our friends the Blue's.  We had a BBQ and went swimming.

We were looking into finishing our Save the Dates, but we have given up.  We were unable to make our dream out so there will be no Save the Dates.  Vikki is disappointed but will get over it one day.
We are 5 months and 5 days away from the wedding.  We finally have everything worked out with the church.  The wedding will be held at 2 p.m.
We looked into a local hall instead of a banquet hall and have found what we need.  Now all we have to do is send out our deposit.

We have friends coming to stay with us on Wednesday and will be staying for the weekend.  These friends will be helping with some wedding items while they are here.  We can hardly wait to have all the flowers finished.

Vikki got a job in North Knoxville.  It is 0.3 miles from our apartment.  She starts the job on Monday, August 1st.  And then starting in the middle of August she will be continuing her dual enrollment at The University of Tennessee and Pellissippi State CC with having three classes at both schools.

 We went, conquered and enjoyed Jackson!

The MiLB Southern League All-Star events were wonderful.  We got to spend some time together, as well as with friends.  Adam did have to work a bit, seeing as the Tennessee Smokies will be hosting the 2012 MiLB Southern League All-Star events.

On our way home from Jackson, we stopped to see uncle Paul for a bit.  We got to enjoy dinner and conversation with him.

More wedding planning came from the four hour drive home......Are we really less than six months away from the wedding???  Where has the time gone?

Wedding shower dates..............

Can't believe it, but we are actually getting things together for our wedding showers. 
The Crump family shower will be held on October 22, 2011, at a family favorite restaurant. 
And just last night the plans started for the Tennessee shower!!!!  Lots of thanks are going out to some of our favorite people in Tennessee, the Blue's!!!!!!  This shower will be held at the most happening place in Kodak, on October 15, 2011.


Save that Dates are coming together....we have to upload them to the company to get them printed and then we will be sending them out.  Hopefully everyone will have them before the countdown gets to 6 months, but if not there is no need to worry.


Life has been busy lately, but we are having a great time together.  Today is game 3 of a 5 game homestand, then Thursday we are off to Youngstown, Ohio, for a baseball tournament.  We will be returning on Monday and another 5 game homestand starts on Wednesday.

Easter 2011

Happy Easter all!!!!!

We had a very peaceful morning.  We woke up and enjoyed our Easter baskets/buckets that the Easter Bunny left us!

Oliver was very excited to play with his.  He really enjoyed the eggs and possibly the grass too

Wedding planning is moving along at a very nice rate.  Getting ready for a small photo shoot to find a photo for our Save the Dates. 

Personal reflection - Vikki

As I sit at home on what will be my last off day until Sunday, I think about how far Adam and I have come.

In just a few short weeks we will be celebrating being together for 7 years.  And Sunday will mark 7 months until our wedding day.  We have been through a lot, we have been on top of the world and knocked on the ground.  We have faced every battle together with our heads held high. 

I love Adam more now than what I did 6 years ago.  He has helped me overcome my fears and has showed me the true meaning of love.  He has supported me in my sickness and kept a smile on his face. 

I would be lost if it weren't for him.  I love him with all of my being and can't wait to see what we will do in our years to come.

Before Life Gets Busy

It has been a while since our last post.  Life has been going great for the three of us.

Vikki is done with chemo and has been doing well.  Her hair is starting to grow back and her energy is coming too. 

Wedding planning is coming along.  We are currently working on our Save the Dates.

Oliver had his one year check up and passed with flying colors!!!  He is 11.6 pounds and doing well.

Adam is staying busy with work.  He has so many things going on now and is enjoying what he is doing.

A Vikki update

I am in round two of chemo.  Tomorrow will be the 4th dose of six!  Then there will be a for week waiting period before a check up.
This round has been going a bit better than the last.  The illness is down and I have a bit more energy.
School is going well, I am in the second week and it seems to be sailing by.  School has been canceled twice do to weather, but it have been nice to be back in some what of a routine. 
The daycare job didn't work out.  She fired me after 6 weeks since she was able to find a person with a degree to further her certification with the state.
I have been out on a few interviews and have been waiting back to find out if I can get back to Lowe's.  I have been applying for various jobs in various fields.
I have been praying to get the help and guidance that I need in finding a new job.

Wedding planning

Wedding planning is going slow and steady.  We are planning on wrapping up the guest list and choosing the hall before the season starts.

Wedding band choices have been made.  Vikki's is pictured below and Adam's is still yet to be photoed.

Vikki had a wedding dressed picked out, but once again has changed her mind. 
The colors have been chosen, we are going with blue (horizon by David's bridal) and silver.
Flower bouquets have been made and the boutonnieres and corsages are a work in progress. All of the bridesmaids jewelry is made and Vikki is working on making one more gift.

January 21, 2009, was the day that we brought home our little ball of fur, aka our fur baby.  The poor baby had 2 different names before we settled on Oliver.  He has really grown before our eyes and has made our lives much more filling. 
Oliver has made our apartment his home and has his favorite spots in every room.

Coming home after work/school is always nice, but seeing that furry face makes it better.  Oliver greets you at the window in the kitchen while you put your key in the door.  Then once you walk in he is standing on the corner of the couch purring like crazy. He love to help you put away the groceries or  laundry.
Oliver gives us reasons to love and laugh every day.  He is crazy about his toys, his favorites include Easter egg halves and any type of ball or small item that he can swat around.
